The Walkway – Retail

Sunrise Community Banks hired EDS Builders to complete
monthly progress site/building inspections and pay applications
for the retail portion of The Walkway, a $3,738,150.00 project.
We reviewed each draw request to assure the general contractor was asking for the correct amount . Some draws had incorrect pay applications.
We requested copies of the change orders, the change orders submitted did not match the change order requests on the pay application. Accounting discrepancies and procedures were addressed and corrected. Making corrections prevented doubling up on winter conditions that was in the contract.
While completing the site inspections we also check for safety issues and notify the contractor of any safety issues.
Some safety issues that were corrected:
- The entrance to the East side next to the trailer was open to a 10’ fall.
- Tie up propane and acetylene tanks.
- Fall protection inside the scaffolding there
