New Brighton Public Safety Center
Situation:
EDS Builders was hired late in the design phase. The Owner’s budget did not reflect the actual design cost.
Remedy:
We methodically walked through the issues with the Owner and design team to accommodate their needs through budget, design and construction changes. 30,000 cy yards of engineer fill was sold, and the generator size was reduced, these cost-effective design changes saved the Owner $275,000.00.
Situation:
The low voltage, phone system, and security system was left to the owner.
Remedy:
We fast-tracked these items and saved on design and construction.
Situation:
The Owner’s needs were not fully addressed.
Remedy:
We facilitated interaction between the Owner, Architect, Engineers, and Contractors to accommodate rapid space changes to meet the Owner’s needs. One instance: as a masonry wall was going up, that the Owner didn’t want, we made the proper adjustments so the walls were shortened and ductwork was moved. This opened up the visibility of the Apparatus Bay.
